Things to Do
Sacramento is close to several wineries and breweries. Our local favorites are:
Old Sugar Mill (multiple tasting rooms; but we love Scott Harvey and Todd Taylor)
Jackrabbit Brewing (dog friendly)
Drake's The Barn (kid and dog friendly)
The Train Museum is located in Old Sac. Before the wedding, we invite you and your family to walk around the cobblestone streets and explore the shops. Evangeline's is a must see!
If the weather is nice (and it's California, why wouldn't it be?), take a walk along the Sacramento River. Start by the Ziggurat (the triangle building in West Sacramento) and walk south towards the Barn. There's plenty of artwork and if you're lucky, you'll see a sealion!
Downtown Commons (aka DoCo) is in Downtown Sacramento. There are loads of restaurants and shops in and around the adjacent area. If you like any kind of games, we recommend you stop by Punch Bowl Social where you can play vintage arcade games, bowl, and even sing some karaoke. If you want to play some indoor mini golf, check out Flatstick Pub (it's 21+ every day but Sunday).
Check out Sacramento's newest museum: The Museum of Science and Curiosity (aka MOSAC). MOSAC is an interactive kid-friendly science center. MOSAC has hands-on interactive exhibits and programming that explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
Fairytale Town is a 3.5 acre children's play park and outdoor children's museum that brings fairytales and nursery rhymes to life! Located in Land Park, it's a short drive from the wedding hotel and downtown Sacramento.
Get out of my lane Henry Ford and Greenville Village! The California Automobile Museum has over 130 vehicles on display and special exhibits to make anyone want to say vroom vroom! It's one of Aria's favorite museums in the area.
Just 10 minutes from downtown Sacramento, TreeTopSac is a ropes course nestled in Heritage Oaks Park in West Sacramento. The ropes course is fun for all ages and one of the best outdoor experiences we have had in Sacramento!
